And then when i plug in the controller, and go to control panel, the only game controller that shows up is 'bluetooth HID joystick'. If its like every other PC port the game will default to xbox button layout when any pad is connected so i suggest the Xb1 controller since its dpad is vastly superior to the horrible 360 dpad and it got official driver support that allows you to simply connect it to your pc with a usb cable and automatically works once plugged in without use.

The driver XP provided installed the controllers perfectly so all I really need is the same driver but for Win7

The only other pertinent change I have made since using XP is that I have upgraded to 64bit and I have been told that a driver for a 32bit OS won't work on a 64bit OS. So I couldn't just get the driver I used on XP 32bit and use it on Win764bit.

Pc Game Controller Review
I have a Thrustmaster Force Feedback GT Racing Wheel (also known as a Guillemot Race Leader). It's a first class steering wheel and I would love to get it up and running on my Windows 7 64-bit machine.
I've tried all the drivers from the Thrustmaster support website (none of them mention my wheel by name as being supported). Win7 just won't recognize any of them as valid drivers.
Anyone know where I might find a valid driver, or is there anything I should be doing to make sure the drivers I have are installed properly?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
