Ea Origins Cant Download Game Folder Does Not Exist
Back story: My DVD drive broke about 2 years ago so I have been getting Digital Downloads of my Sims 3 Expansion Packs and Stuff Packs. Since my desktop game icons also don't work, when I want to play I just open Origin and click 'Play'. Also, because my computer is pretty basic I can only have 1 or 2 EP/SP at a time or things lag pretty bad. This means that I have to uninstall the EP/SP that I am done with and download the one I want to start playing. All of this may seem a bit much but it has worked for me.
This past Saturday I wanted to play Pets so I uninstalled Seasons and Generations. I opened Origin and clicked on Pets 'download' and got a message that says, 'Download Error. We're sorry, Origin was unable to download your game. Please check your internet connection, or try again later.'
I thought this was odd since my internet was working just fine, but I 'rolled with the punches' as they say. I decided that if Pets wouldn't download at least I could play my Base Game since it was still loaded. I cliked 'Play' and waited for the magic! Then the Launche opened and I clicked the the Triangular Button. Instead of my game I got this message, 'Unable to start game. Service initialization failed (0x024e424f)'.
I did a couple of things to see if I could get my games to work:
    Rebooted my computer.
    Super Patch. http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/175477.page
    Uninstalled Origin.
    Reinstalled Origin.
Reloaded my games. (It's a choice on the 'Origin' pull-down menu)
    Restored to a previous time.
    Nothing worked.
I know that Ceejay402 has a topic about Origin but it seems more related to recent purchase v.s. established games. http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/755717.page
So I thought I would ask for additional help.
    Thank you,
    Patty

In theory, online game stores such as Origin are great. At any time of the day or night, you can buy a game and get to playing within a few minutes. In practice, however, things are often not so rosy. You buy a game, click to download it -- and find yourself staring at download speeds that could very well be a virtual representation of a snail moving through molasses. While there is no foolproof way of speeding up your Origin downloads, there are several things you can try that might have an effect.

I went on the EA games site and clicked 'Shop at origin' The game is a only. There is no installer, simply extract the zip file to any convenient location that has plenty of free space. Now Origin downloads on my computer but will not install. Alternatively, you could try to move the game folders to a temporary location for the time being, if you want to be really, really safe. I found this on a EA forum: Exit Origin (if you can't exit it normally, try opening Task Manager and use End Process on Origin). But I don't know where can I download it. Origin doesn't have them,.

    Update Origin

Ensure you are running the most recent version of Origin, as conflicts between your out-of-date client and the Origin server may be the cause of the slowdowns. From within the Origin client, click 'Origin' and select 'Application Settings.' Select the 'General' tab, scroll to the bottom, ensure the check box labeled 'Automatically Keep Origin Up to Date' is selected and click 'Done.' Restart the client and it will automatically install any updates you may have been missing.

    Free Up Bandwidth

Because most Internet service providers place a limit on the amount of data you can simultaneously download, downloading anything else while downloading from Origin may cause slowdowns. Pause or cancel any other download you may be running concurrently and see if your Origin download speed improves. This includes both direct downloads, either from websites or through specialized software, and streaming content from services such as Netflix. If you are sharing an Internet connection with other members of your household, ask if they'll pause or cancel any downloads they may be running.

    Adjust Firewall Settings

Your firewall software may be throttling your connection to the servers your download is coming from. According to the EA website, the Origin software requires TCP ports 80, 443, 9960 to 9969, 1024 to 1124, 18000, 18120, 18060, 27900, 28910 and 29900 and UDP ports 1024 to 1124, 18000 and 29900 to be open so it can function correctly. If you are using a router, you may also need to open the same ports on it. The method to open these ports varies depending on the firewall software and router you are using; consult your manual for more information.

    Avoid Using Third-Party DNS

In order to give you the best speed possible, Origin relies on the Akamai server network. R kelly when a woman's fed up download for windows 10. When you request a game download, the file is automatically downloaded from the Akamai server closest to your geographical location; your location is determined based on the DNS server you are using. If you are using a third-party DNS service such as Google DNS or OpenDNS, the Akamai server that is chosen will instead be the closest to the location of the third-party service's server; this can cause your download to be much slower than it otherwise would be.
